It’s A Language All It’s Own.

Thursday, November 2nd 2006

What is a wedding? After years and years of professional photography, I have come to the conclusion that it is a language. Every planned detail is a statement. Each statement prepared and presented.

Women define their relationships with other women through communication. And for a bride, her wedding is the most important communication of her life, and she is communicating with the most important people in her life.

What is this communication? It is the question we all ask ourselves. “Who am I?” A wedding is a communication, with a language all of it’s own, communicating who the bride has chosen to become. The couple is embarking on a hero’s journey of transformation. We must not forget that the bride’s (or groom’s) acceptance of a proposal is not mandatory, it’s a choice.

So when you look through my site, or if you have the password to a complete wedding I have photographed, try looking at the images as a language. And think of my images as the words, and my albums as the story of a lifetime for one loving couple.

On average, we have a wedding online in 3 business days or less after the wedding, so our bride’s can start communicating again quickly.

Last night’s wedding has already been backed up, edited, and is uploading to a private online gallery now. Do you think she is happy or disappointed that she will be able to see her images on her honeymoon?

Other photographers tell us that our fast turn around devalues our product. I disagree.
