1/23/09 Workshop Update Letter.

Tuesday, January 20th 2009
(This is a copy and paste of an email sent out to people scheduled to attend our Business of Wedding Photography Workshop)
First, I want to thank each of you for signing up for my workshop.  At the time of this letter, $1925 has been donated to The Staudt Family to help their fight with cancer.  Thank you all!

I am so excited to share with everyone the things we have been implementing over the past few years! I hope to give much more than your moneys worth!

I am going to share with you a radical new product.  I am going to share with you trends that I see, and actions we are taking.  I want to help you succeed!

This week’s workshop on 1/23 will be starting at 9am and will conclude at 4pm, with a one hour lunch break.  The workshop will be held at the studio.  As this is a charity event, lunch will not be provided.  We will be having lunch at The Red Onion across the street from the studio.  Lunch menu items range from $9.50 to $12.50.

Cameras will not be required, however taking pictures of the projected notes IS ALLOWED.  I want you all to get as much out of the workshops as you can.  Please bring paper or laptops to take notes as paper will not be provided.

A wireless network is provided for those bringing a laptop.  The password will be given for PC and Mac users once you arrive.

The workshop on 1/16 was video taped by MDI Video.  For a limited time, 100% of the proceeds of the video sales will be donated to The Staudt Family as well.

I do have a small bit of homework for everyone.

Please make a list of five of your favorite wedding photographers.  The photographers you list each need to have a blog that they actively update and the ability for you to comment on.  You will not need to bring the list to the workshop, nor will you be required to share your list with the class.

Second, find photographers in your area that charge roughly the same amount you do, whose work you like, that advertise in areas that you do not.

Well, that’s about it.  I look forward to sharing with everyone, and thank you again for attending.  Please do not hesitate to email me with any questions or concerns.
