When your wedding guests walk into your reception facility, and they view your finished bridal portrait for the first time, I want you to hear your guests gasp in delight, see their eyes open wide, and watch their jaws hit the floor. I want the bridal portrait I create of you to put a smile on your face, and a tear in your mother’s eye.
My name is Aric Hoek, and I’m the owner of Solaris Studios. I love wedding photography, but what I really love even more is creating stunning bridal portraits. I’ve often said, if I could photograph bridal portraits all week long… I would.
Look at the bridal portrait to the left.
Can you see how the portrait reveals the natural mask of her face with light sculpting her beautiful jaw line? Notice how her left arm creates a leading line drawing you back to her face. Notice, too, how the bride’s face is the brightest object in the finished portrait.
Do you think she is happy I’ve featured her engagement ring? Does it look like she is sitting straight up, or have I positioned her in a particular way to better show off her figure?
None of this is by accident. All of it is by design. I love creating bridal portraits in my studio.
I want my finished pieces of art to transcend simple pieces of paper. At Solaris, we do not use the word picture or photo. We create portraits. Award winning portraits.

No, I’m going to photograph your session for free.
“Are you just going to try and sell me something else once you get me into your studio?”
I’m a professional photographer, and it’s my job to sell my clients portraits, so you can be pretty sure I will offer one to you. I might even ask if you would like one of our beautiful frames for your finished portrait as well.
“No one is really going to take you up on this offer unless you give them a free print as well.”
You may be right. But, for the bride that really wants a bridal portrait, and really likes my style, this is a sure thing. Free time and service from a passionate professional is always a good thing. Besides, I don’t want to photograph every bride in the city. I don’t have that kind of time.
“Isn’t this going to make you extremely busy?”
It could, which is why I’m limiting this special to only one bride a month. A first come, first served kind of thing.
“Can I have my free bridal session done on location?”
So sorry, but the free bridal session can only be done here in the studio. Do you like all the bridal portraits on this page? They were all taken here in the studio. Besides, as a native Houstonian, I really like air conditioning.
