Detail
I love detail shots. At some weddings I’ll find details everywhere, and sometimes I have to hunt. This particular shot was set up at The Royal Oaks Country Club.
I found this piano in a side room from the reception, and it reminded me of a photograph I saw during a print competition last year. The photograph was a detail shot of the couples wedding rings on the keys of the piano.
No time like the present.
The piano was in a dark corner, so I either needed to move a light source to the piano, or I needed to move the piano to a light source. Looking around the room, I found a can light in the ceiling, so I decided to move the piano under the can light.
Swell.
So there I am, at a wedding, pushing a piano into the center of the room so I can create the image that I have stuck in my head. It’s kind of like having a song stuck in your head, but in my case it’s an image, and the only way I can really get it out of my head is to create the image for my client.
I’m sure I must have looked a bit strange pushing that piano around.
As soon as I got the piano into position I walked off and left it there in seach of my client’s absolutely fabulous wedding bands.
The entire shoot took about four minutes, and yes I moved the piano back.
